OBJECTIVE

At Geometrix Engineering, our objective is to help you be successful. We can help you to develop your ideas from concept to prototype to production.

Geometrix Engineering has the resources to design, engineer, prototype, and verify your design. We specialize in mechanical and electro-mechanical product development, and we can design the mechanical components as well as integrate embedded microcontrollers, sensors, motors, and more. Once your design and engineering needs have been met, we can refer you to prototype shops, contract manufacturers, mold makers, machine shops, or just about any other resources your project may require.

Our designers work with Pro|ENGINEER™ parametric 3D modeling software, which will help you to develop your product with more choices than ever before…prior to cutting metal. We also strongly encourage the use of many of the awesome rapid prototyping technologies available such as stereolithography(SLA), ZCorp, CNC machining, and more.

ABOUT US

Neal Rosenblum is an accomplished mechanical design engineer with over 19 years of experience in design and engineering for a wide range of products. Upon graduation from the University of Illinois in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering, Neal fulfilled his dream of working for General Motors, the pinnacle of electro-mechanical design and engineering. It was there that he acquired a variety of skills in 3D modeling on UniGraphics and the art of developing an idea from concept through production. Working for General Motors was truly an extension of his hobbies of woodworking and automotive repair, as he merged his creativity and mechanical aptitude.

In 1996, 6 years and 2 patents later, Neal left General Motors for sunny South Florida. His career went from the ground to the sky, as he became involved with the very meticulous business of the reverse-engineering of aircraft engine components for HEICO Corporation. Here he learned the art of advanced 3D measurement with high tech 3D modeling on Pro|ENGINEER, surfacing techniques on Imageware Surfacer, and what it takes to generate drawings that truly reflect the design-intent of a product. From internal aircraft engine components to aircraft interiors, in 2000 Neal left HEICO and went to work for B/E Aerospace. At B/E, his career reverted back to “clean sheet design.” He was heavily involved with the electro-mechanical design and engineering, cosmetic appearance, dynamic testing, manufacturing, and installation of custom aircraft seating.

In an effort to expand life's challenges and to open up new opportunities, Neal started Geometrix Engineering in 2001. Throughout the last 7.5 years, Neal has worked with hundreds of clients across a variety of disciplines involving a tremendous amount of mechanical design, engineering, and prototyping.

FAQS
  • Who is Geometrix Engineering? Geometrix Engineering is a one-man operation owned and operated by Neal Rosenblum. The corporation is not associated with any "fly-by-night" Invention Submission Corporation types of outfits.
  • What types of products does Geometrix Engineering design for its customers? We design just about anything. From simple single part products to very complicated electro-mechanical devices, we can take your idea from a "napkin sketch" to production. Over the years, some of the many products we have designed include an electro-mechanical medical device (spinal stiffness gage), a motorized IP pan/tilt/zoom periscope, reverse-engineered an array of aircraft engine components for PMA approval, coolant leak detectors for automotive A/C diagnostics, child safety devices, and much more.
  • How much time will it take to design my product? The typical project completed by Geometrix Engineering takes between 2 days and 3 weeks. We can provide mechanical design and engineering services on a by-the-project basis or on a retainer basis at a reduced rate for those individuals or companies requiring mechanical engineering services on a more continuous basis.
  • How soon can I have a working prototype? Only after the 3D data has been created can an accurate quote for a prototype be provided to the customer. This is due to the fact that the costs of all of the rapid prototyping technologies are primarily based upon volume of material and machine time required to fabricate the prototypes. Only after the 3D data has been created can we calculate these parameters. Most of the prototyping that we do is subcontracted out to a small group of reliable vendors with whom we have a good history and working relationship. Typical stereolithography prototype leadtimes are about 3 to 4 working days plus any assembly time thereafter.
  • How can I get started? We will provide a free consultation to discuss your idea. Geometrix Engineering will then provide you with a formal quote. All we need is an approval letter and a deposit to begin work on your project.
  • Is my idea protected? We encourage all of our customers to provide non-disclosure agreements to anybody that comes in contact with their ideas. Furthermore, Geometrix Engineering requires all of its vendors to sign the Geometrix Engineering Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement. We encourage our clients to pursue intellectual property protection by using a patent attorney to complete a thorough patent search and to file for a patent as soon as possible.
